Bethany isn't 100% sure what she's done, but is pretty sure she has said something wrong... Also, intentionally or not, she is sure binding an angry wolf and tiger to her, if need be. This was a lot of fun to draw. Particularly the contrast between Bethany's freeze and then bounce, and Rai's climb up Fox.
PANEL
Fox walking in, drying his hands on his shirt, unawares. Bethany, apparently alone, looking straight ahead, trying not to look guilty.
FOX
Drake, do you still have that porter I tried last time?
PANEL
Bethany trying to keep looking straight ahead, while also watching Drake and Rai climb back up the bar. Blood on Rai’s forehead. Drake is still dripping.
FOX
Ok.. What did I miss?
PANEL
Rai, braced on the bar, his turn to be imploring. Bethany explaining. Drake still recovering. Fox looking, curious?
RAI
What, in the name of the nine goddesses, made you ask that?
BETHANY
Well, Father says I’d be lucky to have a good strong lion take me away and keep me “happy and pregnant” somewhere... but I’d rather stay here.
PANEL
Fox is shocked, Rai realizes this is going to get worse before it gets better is pointedly not looking at either Drake or Bethany. Drake is starting to snarl.
RAI
Drake. How soon did you say her ride would be here?
