"Why can't you be more like your friend?" I'm honestly not sure if it's more uncomfortable to be on the "you" side, or the "your friend" side of that statement, but either way... NO! I think it's been clear that Chase doesn't have a great relationship with her family but... It's a different thing to maybe see it in person? I hated drawing this comic... Why? That stupid background.. Why did I decide to go with the like, dowel topped divider! SO MANY LINES! Dinner With Mom
Hannah and Chase being led to a table by materde, Mom is already at table. Hannah “Evening Ma’am. I’m sorry we’re late.” Chase “Mother.”
Mom kissing chase on the cheek, french greeting, cold. “You’re right on time. I took the liberty of ordering.” Hannah, sitting “Oh?”
Waiter delivering, “Seafood chowder. Ratatouille. And a salad, no dressing.” Setting the salad down in front of Hannah, who looks disgusted.
Mom gesturing at Hannah, Hannah demuring, Chase with finger up as if to summon the waiter. Mom - “Wine?” Hannah “No thank you.” Mom “Excellent.” Chase “Tequila shots?”
