So, I’ve interviewed pretty much everybody here… And I’ve become aware of a pretty severe breach of policy. Essie “Oh…” Candy “Shit.”
Essie “I told you.” Candy “Look, it’s not her fault-” Fox “Look, the concessions policy is pretty clear.”
As a manager you should know… The all-you-can-eat benefit for employees only extends to popcorn and soda… Not Candy.
Candy, laughing “HAH!” Essie horrified/embarrassed. “Aaah!”

On the not so punny side, Soda and Popcorn is probably the cheapest items to stock, and popcorn in particular goes stale(assuming it’s popped in the concession stand, not the bagged stuff), so eating off of that doesn’t hurt the budget so much. Chocolates and hard candy, though, have longer shelf life and is more expensive to stock.
So the ‘free soda and popcorn to employees’ is a relatively cheap way to keep the staff happy. Well, happier than without snacks.

100%. Most of the cost in popcorn and soda is actually in the packaging, so if it’s BYO container, why not let the employees have at? ^.^
Now we also had pretzels that had a series of different toppings, and a favorite of mine was a bag of popcorn with a bunch of cinnamon-sugar. It’s like free breakfast!
